Born and raised in Texas, Adam’s affinity for marine ecosystems resources developed on family trips to Corpus Christi and fishing trips out of Rockport in the Gulf of Mexico. With a Master Degree in Marine Ecology from Stony Brook’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Adam has an in-depth perspective on the marine ecosystem food-web. With this understanding, Adam strongly believes in the importance of enticing humans to eat lower on the food-web as much as possible so our wild and wonderful ocean resources are available to future generations as a resource.
To learn the shellfish aquaculture trade including early life history husbandry of oysters, hard clams and bay scallops, Adam worked at the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery since graduating in 2015 until April 2020. He currently owns and operates PLMC. Adam’s favorite part of farming oysters is watching customers eat and enjoy a freshly shucked Lazy Point for the first time…and every time after that!
