Meet the Team

Adam BIO PHOTO_2.jpg

Adam Younes

Born and raised in Texas, Adam’s affinity for marine ecosystems resources developed on family trips to Corpus Christi and fishing trips out of Rockport in the Gulf of Mexico. With a Master Degree in Marine Ecology from Stony Brook’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Adam has an in-depth perspective on the marine ecosystem food-web. With this understanding, Adam strongly believes in the importance of enticing humans to eat lower on the food-web as much as possible so our wild and wonderful ocean resources are available to future generations as a resource.

To learn the shellfish aquaculture trade including early life history husbandry of oysters, hard clams and bay scallops, Adam worked at the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery since graduating in 2015 until April 2020. He currently owns and operates PLMC. Adam’s favorite part of farming oysters is watching customers eat and enjoy a freshly shucked Lazy Point for the first time…and every time after that!

Samir Younes (First Mate)

Sam began with PLMC in the summer of 2017. After graduating from the College of Charleston, Sam moved to the East Hampton to join Adam in building PLMC. Sam currently works at the East Hampton Shellfish Hatchery and helps on the farm in his ‘free-time’. He accepts fishing trips as payment so it is a win-win! Sam enjoys being on the water, whether fishing or oyster farming! His favorite part of farming is hauling oysters for harvest and seeing how well they’ve grown.

Charlotte BIO PHOTO.jpg

Charlotte Younes (First Lady)

Growing up as a fourth-generation of Indian River County, Florida, Adam’s wife, Charlotte developed a love for oysters young helping her great-grandfather, grandfather and father harvest (and eat!) wild oysters. With a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and a career in Construction Management and Development, Charlotte has helped with the logistics and planning of the farm. In addition to enjoying the delicious taste of Lazy Point Oysters, Charlotte’s favorite part of oyster farming is being on the water working with Adam.
